Our forthcoming exhibition Sense of Place from 7-11 June 2022 is now open!

Colonnade House has two gallery rooms, one relatively small, however, both have wide windows with good light and a range of hanging systems.

The small gallery is ideal for a whole room installation with small or transparent textile pieces. We are displaying a hanging installation where we can show some of the new and exciting printing or textile techniques we have developed in the last couple of years.

The larger room shows our responses to the Challenges - A Sense of Place and Verbiage.

Some of the artistist will be present each day - come along and talk to us!

7th-11th June 2022
Tuesday – Friday 10.00 – 17.00

Sue Duncan - study for Verbiage challenge
Our Sussex Prairie Garden inspired pieces - Verbiage - are all beginning to take shape.
Jane is working differently, usually known for working big, this time they are small – three smaller pieces which relate to each other.

Sue D has printed up textiles and papers , the colours are lively and there is a vibrancy but she is finding it difficult to cut into them.  As a group we give feedback on her paper prototype, we ask questions around intent rather than just give our comments, we try hard not to influence how the work will develop. It is easy to give an opinion when sometimes this doesn’t actually help.

We are all behind on our third challenge, our textile book of techniques, again these will all be quite different, the way we will put them together as well as the interpretation of the challenge.  There is going to be a mad rush to get everything ready in time.

Only a few weeks to go, its getting exciting, we all need to look at when we will be available to steward the event, what days can we all do, despite keeping the week clear, the diary seems to gather events and appointments without much effort, as they say - life has a habit of getting in the way – especially when it's about doing those fun things!
