Our forthcoming exhibition Sense of Place from 7-11 June 2022 is now just 6 weeks away, we have spent a lot of time thinking about the space and how we will fill it.
Colonnade House has two gallery rooms, one relatively small, however, both have wide windows with good light and a range of hanging systems. The staff we know from experience are brilliant in their support, coming up with different suggestions for us to consider. This time we want something different, the small gallery is ideal for a whole room installation where we can potentially explore the use of good light with small or transparent textile pieces. We are inspired by the idea of a hanging installation where we can show some of the new and exciting printing or textile techniques we have developed in the last couple of years. We have all come along with small label sized textile pieces that we can hang, all under the theme of reusing or recycling, Amelia’s are jewel like, beautifully made and vibrant, Jane’s are monotone and edgy, it’s a good range, we all agree to produce at least 3 strings by the next meeting. |
